The Space
Consent
FEEDBACK DYNAMIC

Please try and use people’s gender pronouns, if you make a mistake just correct yourself and keep going, try not to make a fuss

We encourage stimming during the breaks, that might mean fidgets, crochet, knitting, colouring in etc.

People are free to take their shoes off during the session

Participants are welcome to take time-out to self-regulate in provided sensory spaces for as long as they need, without asking
​

We encourage people to take radical care of themselves

Tears are welcome. Singing in an accepting creative space can bring up emotions, crying can be very healing. Let’s reduce the stigma of crying and encourage fellow humans to self-regulate​​

​​​No kids allowed into choir sessions

No pets (besides Guru)

No vaping or smoking inside
​

No visitors allowed to sit in on choir sessions to observe

We don't allow walk-ins to sessions due to wellbeing & safety of members and to protect the premises

​​Consent. Please check-in before touching people. Some people are huggy, others not so much. Eg.) “Wanna hug?”. Be okay with a fist pump, a high-five or nothing

We’ll be doing some photography and filming during some sessions. We will only include participants in promotional media content with full written consent

No consent to photography is A-OK! For those who don't consent to photography and filming, we may ask you to wear something specific so our photographers know who doesn't consent to media

If you wish to take photographs with choir members, please gain their consent first

Consent before feedback amongst choir members. Eg.) “Would you like some feedback about XYZ?”. Only offer feedback if consensual

As faciliators, we try to give feedback to sections, rather than individuals in front of the group

We encourage an affirming and strengths-based feedback culture amongst the group
​

We do not tolerate harrassment, stalking, aggressive or intimidating behaviours amongst members. Members who display anti-social destructive behaviour may be asked to leave without an offer of refund
